Trust & Safety

Fraud protection and verified performance

Influencemart is built so merchants pay only for real, verified orders and affiliates are rewarded for genuine results. Verification, risk scoring, hold periods and KYC-backed payouts protect both sides of every transaction.

How we keep it safe

Protection at every step — click, conversion and payout

Trust isn’t a single feature. It’s layered across the whole lifecycle: who gets in, how traffic is scored, when commissions become payable, and how money leaves the platform.

Verified merchants

Every store is reviewed before it can publish a campaign or generate a single tracked click.

Approved affiliates

Affiliates agree to our policies and are screened before — and monitored after — they go live.

Risk-scored traffic

Each click and conversion is scored into a risk band so genuine activity flows and anomalies are caught.

Held until verified

Commissions sit in a hold window covering returns and refunds before they ever become payable.

KYC-backed payouts

Withdrawals are released only after identity and bank checks, with high-value requests reviewed by hand.

Signed, idempotent API

Tracking and conversion calls are HMAC-signed and idempotent, so attribution cannot be forged or replayed.

Fraud protection

Pay only for verified performance

Performance marketing only works when both sides can trust the numbers. We treat every click and conversion as something to be verified — not assumed — so merchants never pay for sales that didn’t stick and honest affiliates aren’t penalised for the bad actors around them.

Fake or bot clicks, self-referrals, duplicate conversions and coupon misuse are detected and held back from payout. Genuine traffic settles smoothly; suspicious traffic is flagged, held, and reviewed before a single rupee moves.

What we treat as fraud

These activities are prohibited for affiliates and are actively detected. Engaging in them puts commissions on hold, leads to reversal, and can result in account suspension.

  • Fake, bot, or incentivized clicks
  • Self-referrals or buying through your own links for commission
  • Duplicate or manipulated conversions
  • Coupon / discount-code misuse and brand-bidding abuse
  • Spam, misleading claims, or impersonating the merchant or platform

Verification

Verified merchants and approved affiliates

Trust starts at the door. Both sides of the network are reviewed before they can transact — and held to the same standard afterwards.

Verified merchant system

Stores are reviewed before they go live

Before a merchant can publish a campaign, sync products, or receive a single tracked click, their store and business details are reviewed. This keeps affiliates from promoting unverified or non-existent storefronts — and keeps the network’s reputation intact.

  • Business and store details verified before approval
  • API keys are scoped per merchant and HMAC-signed
  • Campaign terms and commission rules reviewed before publishing
  • Ongoing monitoring of order-reporting and refund behaviour
Affiliate approval system

Affiliates are screened — then monitored

Becoming an affiliate isn’t a one-click free-for-all. We screen applicants, require agreement to the affiliate and fraud policies, and continuously risk-score traffic so that clean performance is rewarded and abuse is caught early.

1

Application

You register with verifiable business or creator details and accept the affiliate and fraud policies.

2

Screening

We review your profile, promotion channels and history for signals of policy abuse or prior fraud.

3

Activation

Approved affiliates can generate trackable links; new accounts may start with tighter limits.

4

Ongoing monitoring

Your traffic is continuously risk-scored. Clean performance unlocks trust; abuse triggers review or suspension.

Risk scoring

Every click and conversion is risk-scored

Our scoring engine evaluates each tracked event and sorts it into a risk band. Low-risk activity flows through normally; higher-risk activity is held back and routed to review before it can become payable.

Low risk

Flows through

Genuine clicks and conversions that fit normal patterns proceed through the standard hold and verification lifecycle without friction.

Elevated risk

Held for checks

Events that look unusual are held longer and cross-checked against order confirmation and other signals before they are allowed to settle.

High risk

Routed to review

Activity matching known abuse patterns is blocked from payout and escalated to a human reviewer for a decision before any commission is released.

Manual review

Automation does the heavy lifting, but people make the final call where it matters. Flagged commissions, disputed orders, high-value payouts and edge cases are reviewed by our team. Reviewers can approve, extend a hold, request more information, or reverse a commission — and every action is recorded in the audit ledger.

  • High-risk and flagged commissions reviewed before payout
  • Disputed or mismatched orders investigated against the event ledger
  • High-value and first-time payouts checked by hand
  • Every review decision is logged and auditable

Why we don’t publish the exact rules

We deliberately don’t disclose the precise signals, thresholds, or weightings behind our risk bands. Publishing the exact algorithm would simply hand a playbook to bad actors looking to game attribution and payouts.

What we will always be transparent about is the principle: genuine traffic earns, abuse does not, and anything uncertain is held and reviewed rather than paid out blindly. If a commission of yours is held or reversed, you’ll see its status — and you can contact us to understand the decision.

Commission integrity

Hold periods and automatic refund reversals

A commission isn’t money in the bank the moment an order is placed. It moves through a transparent lifecycle, with a hold window that protects merchants against returns before anything becomes payable.

Commission hold period

After an order is confirmed, the related commission enters a hold window covering the merchant’s return and refund period. During the hold, the commission is locked: it counts toward your account but isn’t yet available to withdraw. Once the hold clears and the order remains valid, the commission becomes payable.

This single mechanism is what lets merchants pay confidently — they’re never charged for an order that a buyer ends up sending back.

Refund & return adjustment

If an order is cancelled, returned, or refunded — whether during the hold or reported later — the related commission is automatically reversed. The reversal is written to the append-only ledger, so the adjustment is transparent and traceable for both the merchant and the affiliate.

The result is simple and fair: affiliates earn on sales that complete, and merchants never pay for sales that didn’t stick.

The commission lifecycle, end to end

Every commission has a clear, public status — so affiliates always know where their money stands and merchants know exactly what they’re paying for.

Pending

The order has been attributed to you and a commission has been created, awaiting the merchant to confirm the order.

Hold

The order is confirmed but in the return/refund window (or under review). Commission is locked until the hold period passes.

Approved

The order is verified. The commission is approved and moving toward becoming payable.

Payable

The hold has cleared. This commission is available in your balance and can be included in a payout request.

Paid

The commission has been paid out to you. This is a final state.

Rejected

The order was cancelled, returned, refunded, or failed verification, so the commission was reversed.

Payout safety

Money leaves the platform carefully

Payouts are the moment fraud tries hardest. We protect them with identity checks, a settlement hold, validated payout details, and manual review of anything unusual.

  • Identity / KYC verification — and, where platform settings require it, a PAN — before any withdrawal is released
  • An escrow-style hold so funds settle only after the return and refund window has cleared
  • Bank-account and payout-detail validation to stop misdirected or fraudulent transfers
  • Manual review of high-value, unusual, or first-time payout requests before they are approved
  • A complete, append-only ledger so every commission, hold, reversal and payout is fully auditable

From payable balance to your account

1

Request a payout

You request a withdrawal once your payable balance meets the minimum. Only commissions whose holds have cleared are eligible.

2

KYC & details check

Identity and payout-detail verification (and, where required, your PAN) must be in place before the request can be approved.

3

Review where needed

High-value, first-time, or unusual requests are reviewed by hand before approval.

4

Settled & recorded

Approved payouts settle to your chosen method, and the transaction is written to the audit ledger.

API & tracking integrity

Attribution you can’t forge or replay

The data behind every commission is only as trustworthy as the pipe it travels through. Our tracking and conversion APIs are signed, idempotent, and recorded immutably.

HMAC-signed requests

every API call is signed with your secret key, so tracking and conversion data cannot be forged or tampered with in transit

Idempotency keys

retried or duplicated conversion calls are de-duplicated, so the same order can never be counted (or paid) twice

click_id attribution

each click carries a unique click_id to the merchant store and back with the order, tying every commission to a real, verifiable event

Append-only event ledger

clicks, conversions and status changes are recorded immutably, giving both sides a tamper-evident audit trail

Shared responsibility

Safety is a two-way commitment

Our systems do a lot, but a healthy network depends on everyone playing fairly. Here’s what we hold affiliates to.

Always prohibited

These activities are never allowed and are actively detected and acted on.

If something looks wrong

Whether you’re a merchant who suspects fraudulent traffic or an affiliate whose commission was held or reversed, reach out. We can explain a decision, investigate a dispute against the event ledger, and act on credible reports of abuse.

FAQ

Trust & safety questions, answered

When an affiliate shares a link, the buyer is redirected to your website carrying a click_id. When you report the conversion back (with that click_id), we attribute the order to the right affiliate and calculate commission.
